Charminar Kitchen

Charminar Kitchen is a small place located at No 2/20 on Pillayar Koil Street. We are in the Anna Nagar West area, not too far from the Emmanuel Church. This part of Chennai is always crowded, so getting our supplies delivered can be a bit of a headache sometimes. We focus on cooking for local families and small gatherings in the neighborhood. The kitchen stays quite hot because of the constant cooking, but we are used to it by now. My wife helps with the accounts while I stay in the back with the cooks. We do not have any fancy signs or a big storefront. Most people just know the building and walk in. We spend a lot of time cleaning the floors and the big metal vats we use for the gravy. It is a humble setup, really. We do not have a website or anyone to do our social media. We just answer the phone and write down orders in a big ledger. Sometimes we make mistakes with the handwriting, but we usually figure it out before the cooking starts. It is a busy life, especially during the wedding season when everyone wants their food at the same time. We try to be practical and just do one task at a time. The church bells nearby help us keep track of the time throughout the day while we are busy with the stoves and the packing.
