Over in Selaiyur, on Vengaivasal Yogananda Paramahamsa Street, you’ll find our tile place. Aspire Designer Tiles Pvt. Ltd. is where we spend our days surrounded by patterns and textures. It is a bit of a mouthful of an address, but once people find the street, they usually spot us easily enough. We have a lot of different tiles stacked up, and sometimes it feels like we are living in a giant puzzle. We deal with people who are building their first homes and they are usually quite stressed out about making the right choice. We just let them look around and touch the surfaces to see what they like. It’s not a high-pressure environment here. We have a small office in the back where we handle the orders and talk to the suppliers. Sometimes the deliveries are late because of the traffic on the main road, which can be frustrating for everyone. We have a few guys who help with the loading, and they are pretty careful because tiles break if you even look at them wrong. We don't go in for all those fancy slogans. We just show what we have in the warehouse and tell folks how many boxes they will need for their square footage. It is practical work, and at the end of the day, our shoes are always a bit white from the ceramic dust, but that's just how the job is. It gets tiring, but seeing a finished floor is okay.
