Maa Hay Noor Multi Shoppe is over at No. 329 Pycrofts Road in Royapettah. We are quite close to Express Avenue, so there’s always a lot of foot traffic around here. We call it a multi shoppe because we carry a bit of everything. It’s not just one thing. We have household items, maybe some clothes, and small bits and pieces people need. It’s a bit of a general store vibe. The shop isn't huge, but we pack a lot into the space. We’ve been on Pycrofts Road for a good while. The mornings are usually spent checking what’s run out and what needs to be ordered. It’s a lot of lifting boxes. Chennai weather is usually hot, so the shop can get a bit stuffy, but we have the door open. People stop by on their way to the mall or after finishing work nearby. We know a lot of the locals by name because they come in for their regular supplies. It’s a simple life running a shop like this. No fancy marketing, just putting things on the shelves and selling them. We try to keep the prices fair. Sometimes we have a chat with the neighbors while sitting on the stool outside. It’s a busy neighborhood and we like being part of the daily routine for people living around Royapettah. Usually, we close up late once the street traffic starts to slow down a bit.
