We are right in the middle of Chennai at McNichols Road in Chetpet. The address is 55/21 Buckingham Terrace. It’s a busy spot near Nowroji Road. This isn't a farm with green fields around it, but an office where we handle all the fresh produce coming in. It can be quite a headache with the city traffic. Sometimes the trucks get stuck for hours trying to reach us. We are just a small group of people working as an LLP. It’s not a huge operation with hundreds of workers. We spend most of our day on the phone or checking lists of what arrived from the growers. Buckingham Terrace is an older building, and our space is a bit cramped with files and computers. It gets loud outside with the horns and the people walking by, but we are used to it. We started this because we saw how much good food was going to waste before it got to the shops. It’s a lot of long hours, especially during the summer months when things spoil fast. We don’t have any fancy titles here; we all just do whatever needs to be done that day. If a shipment is late, we stay late. That’s the way it goes when you’re dealing with fresh stuff. It’s a practical business for people who don’t mind getting their hands a bit dirty even in the city, and we just keep pushing forward day by day.
