Research Hospital

Research Hospital is right in the middle of Main City. Being in Main City means there’s always noise outside and people rushing past. We’ve been here for a while. It’s a plain building. We don’t spend money on fancy decorations or anything. Most of the space inside is taken up by rooms and equipment. We do a lot of paperwork. There’s always a stack of forms sitting on the counter that needs attention. People come in from all over the city because we're easy to find. It gets busy around noon. Sometimes the elevator takes a bit long to come down. We just keep things moving. We aren't trying to be anything other than a hospital. The staff wears regular scrubs and we all drink way too much coffee from the machine in the breakroom. The walls are a bit off-white, maybe a little yellowed in the corners. It’s a practical place. We focus on the tasks at hand. You won’t find any glossy brochures here. Just the sounds of the city coming through the windows and the regular hum of the machines. The traffic in Main City is always a bit of a nightmare, so we hear honking all day long. Research Hospital has been on this corner for as long as I can remember. The lobby has those old-fashioned tiles that have been polished so many times they’re starting to lose their pattern. We just keep our heads down and do the job.
