Ravindra Granites & Tiles

Our shop is at number 19 in Thillai Nagar. We are right on the 200 Feet Road in Kolathur. It’s a very busy road, so there is always a lot of traffic and noise passing by our front door. Ravindra Granites & Tiles has been here for a bit. We carry both granite and tiles, so there is always a lot of stock to move around and organize. The tiles are a bit easier to handle than the heavy granite slabs, but they can be fragile and break if you aren't careful. We spend a lot of time carefully stacking and unstacking boxes in the back. It’s a lot of physical labor. Most of our customers are folks from the nearby neighborhoods who are fixing up their homes or kitchens. They come in with their measurements and we try to find something that fits what they need. We don't have a professional sales team or people in uniforms. It's usually just us, maybe with some tea in hand, talking to whoever walks in. The dust from the road and the stone is something we just deal with every day. It's part of the job. Sometimes we get a bit behind on things, but we always catch up eventually. We like being in Kolathur. It feels like a real community where people know each other. We don't do much in the way of advertising because people just see our shop when they drive by. It's a simple way to run things. We just stay open and do our work.
