Orient Canvas Company

We are located at 15/4 Ramanan Road. It’s directly opposite the Elephant Gate Police Station, which is the easiest way to find us if you’re new to the area. We’ve been in this building for quite a long time now. We work with canvas, which is tough and heavy material. The shop is usually filled with the smell of the fabric and the loud sound of heavy-duty machines. It’s not the cleanest place because canvas can get pretty dusty if you don't sweep every hour. We don’t have any polished floors or expensive office furniture. It is just a place where hard work happens. Most of the day is spent cutting and sewing covers or bags for our regulars. We open the shutters early in the morning and stay until the sun goes down or the job is done. Sometimes the neighbors from nearby shops come by for a chat. It’s a friendly street. We just keep our heads down and do the work. We don't use any fancy sales talk here because we aren't salesmen. People know what we do and they come to us when they need something sturdy. The space is a bit cramped with all the heavy rolls of canvas stacked up against the walls, but we know where everything is. It’s a bit old-fashioned, maybe, but it works for us. We just focus on making things that hold up well over time. That’s really all there is to tell about our shop.
