We are over in Besant Nagar at 8/1 Arundale Beach Road. Being in Kalakshetra Colony is nice because we are so close to the water. You can often feel the breeze coming off the ocean, which helps a lot during the summer months in Chennai. PK Food Ventures is basically just a group of us working out of this space. It’s an old building but it has plenty of room for what we do. The kitchen area is usually the busiest part of the whole place. We have big counters and plenty of pots and pans moving around. Since we are near the beach, the area gets very crowded on the weekends with families and people taking walks. We usually have our hands full trying to keep up with everything. The walls are white and the floors are easy to wash down at the end of a shift. We don’t spend much time on decorating or anything like that. Most of our effort goes into the food itself. Sometimes the delivery bikes are lined up outside, and it gets a bit chaotic on the narrow road. We know most of the people on the block. It’s a good community to be a part of. Even when things get stressful, we can just step outside and see the trees in the colony. It keeps us grounded while we work through our daily tasks and manage the business.
