Pioneer Engg. is based at 54, Kamaraj Street in Tmp Nagar, Padi. If you know Padi, you know it’s a place where things get built and fixed. We fit right in there. Our shop is a bit greasy and there are always tools lying around on the workbenches. We do engineering work, so it’s more about getting our hands dirty than sitting at a computer. We have some machines that have been with us for years, and they still run better than the new stuff if you treat them right. The street outside can get pretty loud with the sound of other workshops and the traffic passing through Tmp Nagar. We don't have a fancy waiting room for visitors. Usually, if someone comes by, they just stand in the doorway or pull up a stool near the main bench. We talk about the job, figure out what needs to be machined or welded, and then get to it. It’s practical work for practical people. We aren't big on writing long reports or having meetings that go on forever. We’d rather just fix the problem and move on to the next one. Sometimes we have to work on a Saturday to get a project finished, but that’s just how the trade goes. We like what we do, and we like being in Padi. It’s a good place for a shop like ours to be located.
