Phoenix Food Packers

Phoenix Food Packers is over at No: 8/1A in Anna Nagar, specifically in the Lit Colony area. It’s a small facility where we handle various types of food packing for different clients. We don’t have a lot of extra space, so we have to be very organized with how we stack the crates and boxes. The day usually starts with a lot of noise as the packing lines get going and people arrive for their shifts. It’s repetitive work, putting things into bags and sealing them up, but it has to be done carefully. We have a crew of about eight people who mostly live in the surrounding streets. We’ve been here for a few years now. The building is an older one, and it gets a bit warm and stuffy in the afternoons. We have some industrial fans, but they only do so much when the sun is out. We don’t really have a lobby or a waiting area for visitors. If someone comes by, they usually just talk to us through the main gate or come straight into the loading area. It’s a very practical, no-frills kind of place. We focus on getting the orders out on time so the local shops have what they need. There’s always a lot of cardboard scraps and tape rolls lying around. Sometimes the delivery van has trouble parking in the narrow streets of Lit Colony, but we manage somehow. It is just a regular job.
