Philips Electronics India Ltd. is over at Temple Tower in Nandanam. We are up on the 5th floor. The address is a bit confusing because of the old and new numbering system on Anna Salai. It says Old No. 476 but the new one is 672. People always get lost trying to find the entrance. Once you get up to the 5th floor though, things are a bit quieter than the street below. Anna Salai is always a mess with traffic, especially in the mornings. You can hear the horns even from up here. We spend our days dealing with all sorts of electronic stuff. There are boxes everywhere and people always moving from one desk to another. The office has that typical tower feel with the glass windows looking out over the city. It’s not very cozy but it gets the job done. We’ve got a small area for water and coffee where most of the gossip happens. Sometimes the lift takes forever, so we just wait around and talk about the weather or the traffic. It’s just a regular office environment where everyone is trying to keep up with the tasks. Electronics is a fast business but our daily life is mostly about emails and meetings. We’ve been in this building for some time now and most of us know the security guys by name. It’s just where we spend our nine to five.
