Anand Agencies is tucked away at No. 9 Anna Street in Chelli Nagar, Selaiyur. It’s a quiet spot, away from the main road noise. Our office is basically a front room that we converted to handle the agency work. There are two big wooden cupboards where we keep all the records and files. We have a few chairs for people who stop by, but most of our business happens over the phone or through deliveries. The walls are painted a light blue, but they are starting to fade near the windows. We have a small ceiling fan that makes a clicking sound on its highest setting. In the mornings, you can hear the birds from the trees in the backyard. It’s a very local operation. We don't have any fancy software to run things; we still use a lot of paper and pens. Sometimes we lose track of time talking to the neighbors who pass by the gate. We keep things pretty simple here. There’s no dress code or big corporate rules. We just make sure the orders are processed and the bills are paid on time. It is a modest place to work, but it suits what we do and we’ve been here long enough that everyone knows where to find us. Usually, we wrap things up before it gets too dark and walk down the street to the market.
