Kamala Hospital Chennai is located at 4/9 Andal Avenue 1St Street, and if you live in this part of Chennai, you probably know the area well. We aren’t one of those massive glass-fronted medical centers you see in the city center. We are just a local hospital on a regular street where people come when they aren't feeling well. The building has been here for a while, and it has that lived-in feel that comes with years of people walking through the doors. The staff here mostly live nearby, so it feels a bit like a community spot. We don’t use a lot of fancy medical jargon when we talk to people; we just try to explain things in plain English or Tamil. The waiting area is usually full of families sitting together, and the sounds of the street outside blend in with the hum of the fans inside. It can get a bit crowded on Monday mornings, but we just manage it the best we can. We aren't trying to be the most modern or the biggest facility around.
