Parthiban Traders & Tiles

Our shop is at New 102 on Thiruvalluvarpuram 1st Street in Choolaimedu. We have been in this neighborhood for a long time, back when the address was still Old 58. It’s a bit of a cramped space because we try to keep a lot of tile samples out so people can see the different colors and patterns. Trading tiles is a bit of a juggling act, trying to make sure we have enough stock without completely filling up the narrow aisles. The street outside is usually busy with people and scooters, so it can be a bit of a squeeze getting deliveries through the door. We don't have a big corporate team; it’s just us helping customers who come in wanting to redo their floors or bathrooms. Sometimes we get a bit behind on the paperwork or the shop gets a little dusty from the ceramic samples, but we try to stay on top of things. Most of our customers are just families from around Choolaimedu who want something that looks decent and doesn't cost too much. We don't use any fancy sales tactics. We just show you what we have and tell you how long it might take to get more if we run out. It is a humble little business and we are glad to be part of the local community here. It’s a lot of lifting heavy boxes of tiles, which keeps us busy all through the day.
