New Century Hospital

You’ll find New Century Hospital right near the railway station in Ambattur. Being so close to the tracks means you can hear the trains passing by all day long. It’s a constant background noise that we don’t even notice anymore, though new patients sometimes find it a bit loud. The location is very convenient for people coming in from further away by train, though. The hospital itself is a sturdy building that has seen a lot of traffic over the years. We have a main desk that is usually buried under folders and a waiting area that fills up fast in the mornings. It’s a busy place because of the station nearby, so we get a lot of walk-ins who are just passing through or work in the local shops. The rooms are basic, just the beds and the necessary equipment. We don’t have any fancy art on the walls or a cafeteria, just a small tea stall right outside the gate where most of us get our snacks. Running a hospital in such a high-traffic area is tiring, and there’s always something that needs fixing, like a leaky tap or a flickering light in the hallway. We just keep up with the daily grind and try to make sure everyone who walks in gets the attention they need. It’s a lot of long hours, but we are used to the rhythm of Ambattur by now.
