Momo Juice House

We've been here at 9, Kanabiran Nagar for a while now. Most people around Salaigramam know us just as the spot to grab something cold when the sun is beating down. It started out pretty small, just a few blenders and whatever fruit looked good at the market that morning. We don't do anything too fancy. It’s mostly just us cutting up oranges, watermelons, and mangoes behind the counter. Sometimes the floor gets a bit sticky when it’s busy, but that is just how it goes in a juice shop. We try to keep the fruit fresh, though some days the delivery guy is late and we have to make do with what's on the shelf. The regulars usually come in after work or on their way to the market. You will see some of the same faces every single afternoon. We know their orders by heart now, which makes things faster. It isn't a big corporate chain with uniforms. It’s just a few of us trying to keep things running. The machines make a lot of noise, so you might have to shout your order if the grinders are going full speed. We don't have a lot of seating, just a couple of stools if they aren't already taken. It gets cramped in here during the summer months, but nobody seems to mind much. We just keep peeling and squeezing until the crates are empty. That’s pretty much the whole story of Momo Juice House.
