Mirchi Food Products

We are located at No-2 in Pataravakkam, which is right in the middle of Ambattur. One good thing about our spot is being so near the railway station. You can hear the trains passing by all day long, and it kind of sets the rhythm for our work. Mirchi Food Products is what we call ourselves because, well, we deal with a lot of heat. Handling chillies all day isn’t for everyone. Your eyes sting and your skin burns if you aren't careful. We’ve all made the mistake of rubbing our eyes after a shift, and let me tell you, you only do that once. The building in Pataravakkam isn't anything special to look at, just a practical space where we can get the work done. We have a small crew, mostly people from the local Ambattur area who can walk or take a short bus ride here. We don't do much in terms of advertising or making ourselves look big. We just focus on the machines and making sure the food products are processed properly. Some days it’s incredibly hot inside, especially during the summer, but we just open the big doors and keep moving. It’s a grind, but seeing the finished bags stacked up at the end of the day feels good. We’re just a local business trying to do our part and keep the station area busy with a bit of spice. It's noisy and dusty but it's what we do.
