Matha Prawn Hatchery

It might seem a bit strange to have Matha Prawn Hatchery located in Flat No. D1 of Prakruti Apartments. We are at No. 20 on the 1st Main Road in Gandhi Nagar. Adyar is a busy area, but our little corner is tucked away in this apartment block. We spend a lot of time looking at water quality charts and talking to the guys at the actual ponds. The office is basically a few rooms filled with computers and some sample jars. It is quiet here compared to the main road outside. We have to be careful with the neighbors so we do not make too much noise moving boxes around in the hallway. Being in Gandhi Nagar means we are close to a lot of things, but we mostly stay inside and deal with the logistics of the hatchery. The paperwork for prawns is more complicated than you might think. We have maps pinned to the walls and calendars marked with breeding dates. Sometimes the elevator in Prakruti Apartments acts up and we have to carry everything up the stairs. It is just part of the daily life here. We drink a lot of coffee and try to keep the records straight. The 1st Main Road is usually lined with parked cars, so getting a spot can be a headache. We just do our work and keep the hatchery side of things running from this little flat. It is a bit cramped but we manage fine.
