Maiam Trading Company

You’ll find Maiam Trading Company up on the 1st floor at 98/88 in Kamdar Nagar. We’re located right on 3rd Street in Mahalingapuram, which is a fairly decent area to work in. It’s not too far from the main road, but it stays quiet enough that we can actually hear ourselves think while we're working. The office itself is just a regular room filled with some old filing cabinets and a couple of computers that have been around for a while. We don't really have a big staff, just a few of us who handle all the trading details ourselves. It can get a bit cramped when we have a lot of paperwork coming in, but we’ve learned how to manage the space over the years. We spend a lot of time on the phone or emailing people, trying to make sure everything is coordinated. There’s no big sign or anything flashy outside. We’ve never felt the need for that kind of stuff. We mostly just rely on the fact that we’ve been here for a while and people know our address. In the afternoons, the sun hits the windows on the 1st floor and it gets a bit warm, so we usually keep the fans running full blast. We like the neighborhood because there are some good spots nearby to grab a quick tea or some snacks when we need a break. It’s just a simple, honest trading office where we show up every morning and do our best to stay organized and get the job done.
