Mahesh Marble Granite

We’ve been here at 1/22 Poonamalle High Road in Nerkundram for quite some time now. Most people know us because they pass by on the main road every day. The yard is usually full of slabs leaning against each other. It’s a lot of heavy lifting. When someone comes in, we just show them what’s in stock. Sometimes the dust gets everywhere, but that’s just how it is with stone. We keep different types of marble and granite because everyone has a different idea of what their floor should look like. Some want dark granite for the kitchen, others want white marble for a room. We just move the pieces around so they can see the patterns properly under the sun. It’s hard work, especially when it’s hot outside. We don’t have a fancy showroom with lights. It is just the slabs out in the open where you can see the real color. If a truck arrives, everything stops while we unload. We’ve seen the neighborhood change over the years, more buildings coming up nearby. People come in with their measurements on scraps of paper. We try to help them find something that fits. It’s a straightforward business. We just sell the stone and hope it looks good once it's installed in someone's house. Sometimes we have leftovers or smaller pieces that people take for small patches. It’s busy, it’s noisy with the road right there, but we are used to it.
