Mahalakshmi Marble & Granite

Mahalakshmi Marble & Granite is our small business located at Plot No 1-B on the 100 Ft. Road in Arumbakkam. If you know this part of Chennai, you know how busy the 100 Ft. Road can get at almost any hour. We are tucked in at Block No 12. We have been here for a while, just handling the daily grind of the stone trade. Marble and granite are heavy things to deal with, so most of our day is spent using muscle and cranes to shift slabs around. It’s not a very quiet job because of the traffic outside and the sound of stone being moved. We don’t really do much advertising; we just rely on people seeing our yard as they drive past. Arumbakkam is a good place to be, even if it is a bit crowded. We have a lot of different stones piled up, and sometimes it gets a bit messy when we are in the middle of a big delivery. We just try to keep a decent variety so folks have something to choose from. Our office is just a simple room where we keep the books and escape the sun for a few minutes. We aren't trying to be some big corporate entity. We are just local people who know a bit about stone and have been doing this long enough to know what works. Our neighbors know us and we know them. It is a simple way to spend a day.
