Shakti Ceramics

The shop here on Vimalraj Street has been around for a good while now. We mostly handle ceramics and it gets pretty busy when people are building their houses in Nethaji Nagar. If you walk into our place in Maduravail, you will probably see boxes stacked up almost to the ceiling. It is not the most organized looking spot, but we know exactly where everything is kept. Moving these heavy tile crates every day is a real workout for us. My back usually hurts by five o’clock, but that is just part of the job. We have some older guys working here who have been with us since the start. They talk about how much this area has changed over the years. Some days the dust from the road gets everywhere, so we spend a lot of time wiping down the display pieces. It is just a regular local business where we drink too much tea and try to keep things moving. We do not have fancy brochures or a big sales team. Usually, it is just someone walking in with a measurement on a scrap of paper. We try to find what matches their floor or wall and hope they have a truck ready to load it up. The traffic outside on the main road can be a headache, especially for the delivery drivers trying to back in. But we manage somehow and stay open until the sun goes down.
