Labh Marbles

Labh Marbles is tucked away on Arya Gowder Road in West Mambalam. Our address is New No.-44, and it’s a fairly well-known spot in this part of Chennai. This neighborhood has a very specific feel to it, with narrow streets and lots of local activity. We’ve had to learn how to manage our space carefully because things are a bit tight around here. You can’t just leave a massive truck sitting in the middle of the road for too long or the neighbors get bothered. We have various marbles stacked up inside and a bit outside when we have room. It’s a family-run kind of vibe. We recognize a lot of the faces passing by every day. When someone is renovating an old house nearby, they usually drop in to see what we’ve got. We don't have any big corporate displays. It’s just the stone and us. The morning starts with sweeping the front and making sure everything looks decent. It gets humid in Mambalam, so moving the heavy pieces can be quite a workout. We talk to contractors mostly, but also to homeowners who just want a small piece for a shelf. We’ve been at this for a while and we know the quirks of the different marbles we keep. It’s just our little corner of the city.
