If you find yourself over in Kolathur, you might pass by our place on the 2000 Ft Road. We are at No. 34 Venus Nagar. City Tiles Chennai has been part of this neighborhood for a while. The 2000 Ft Road is a wide stretch, and it’s seen a lot of development lately. We have a lot of tiles piled up inside, from basic ceramics to some of the bigger floor pieces people like these days. It’s a lot of lifting and shifting, as you can imagine. People come in with their measurements on a piece of paper, trying to figure out how many boxes they need. We help them count it out and show them what we have on the racks. It’s not a fancy showroom with lights and coffee; it’s just a tile shop where you can see the actual product. Venus Nagar is a decent area, and being on the main road helps people find us without too much trouble. We get a lot of dust from the road, so we’re always wiping down the displays. It’s a simple business. We get the tiles in, we show them to people, and we send them out. Sometimes the colors don't match perfectly between batches, so we have to be careful about that. It’s just part of the daily grind. We like it here in Kolathur, it feels like a real community where people are still building and fixing up their homes.
