Kamuthi Farmers Producer Company Limited

We are located at 4/8, North Street in a small place called Thottiyapatty. It’s part of Kovilangulam in the Kamuthi Taluk of Ramanathapuram. It’s a bit of a drive to get out here, but this is where the farming happens. We are a group of farmers who got together to form Kamuthi Farmers Producer Company. We didn't want to just be individual sellers anymore. Now we have this little office where we can meet and organize things. It’s pretty basic inside. We have some benches and a desk for the paperwork. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are more worried about the crops than the decor. We deal with whatever is growing in the fields around here. Ramanathapuram can be a tough place to farm because it gets so dry. We spend a lot of time talking about water and how to keep things growing. We aren't corporate types with suits. We wear our regular clothes and usually have a bit of dirt on our shoes. That’s just how it is. We try to help the local farmers get a better deal and make sure the supplies they need are available. It’s a lot of coordination and simple math. We’ve been here for a while and most people in the taluk know where to find us on North Street. We just take it one day at a time, making sure the records are right and the farmers are looked after properly.
