Joy Masala

Joy Masala is located at No 12/44 on School Road in the Koyambedu area. If you’ve ever been to Koyambedu, you know it’s one of the busiest places in the city because of the huge market and the bus terminal. We are right in the middle of all that action. Our focus is purely on masala and spices. We spend our days grinding ingredients and packing them up into different sizes. It’s a dusty job, and the smell of the spices can be very strong, but we’re used to it by now. The shop is quite functional and doesn't have any of those modern decorations you see in the malls. We just need enough space for our machines and the sacks of raw materials. School Road gets pretty congested with traffic, so we usually try to get our heavy lifting done early in the morning. We have a small team here, and everyone knows what they need to do. We don't go in for big promises or fancy talk. We just make sure the masala is ready when people come to buy it. It's a lot of hard work and long hours, especially when there are big orders to fill, but it’s what we do. The noise from the street is constant, but it just feels like home to us now. It isn't a glamorous life, but it keeps us going.
