Jayn Marbles

You can find Jayn Marbles right on Poonamalle High Road in Nerkundram. We are quite close to the Bala Murali Theater, so the location is easy to spot if you’re driving by. We’ve got a lot of marble slabs and tiles sitting here at No. 43. It’s mostly just a place where we store and sell stone for building projects. We get all sorts of people coming in—some are building a new house and others are just fixing a small bathroom. The traffic on the high road is always noisy, but we are used to it by now. We spend the day moving tiles around and showing customers the different types of stone we have available. Some of the marble is local and some comes from further away. We don’t do a lot of talking; we just show the stock and let the stones speak for themselves. The yard can get a bit cluttered when a new shipment arrives, but we try to keep a path open for visitors. It’s a straightforward business. We weigh things, talk about the thickness, and figure out the transport. My cousin handles the accounts and I look after the yard and the workers. We’ve been in Nerkundram for years and seen the area change a lot. The theater nearby is a good landmark for people who are coming to visit us for the first time. It’s just a regular stone yard with honest prices and plenty of heavy lifting.
