Jaya Granites

Out here in Palavakkam, the air feels a bit different. We are located at Plot No. 48 in the V. G. P Layout Part 1. Jaya Granites has been sitting on the 2nd Main Road for quite some time now. It’s a residential-feeling area but we have our yard here. Moving stone is heavy work and it makes a lot of noise. We try to be quiet for the neighbors, but you can’t really move granite silently. The yard is usually full of slabs. Some are gray, some are darker. People walk by and peek in through the gate. We don't have a big showroom. It’s more of a practical setup. You walk in, see the stone, and we talk about it. The weather affects us a lot. When it rains, everything gets slippery and we have to be extra careful. I’ve worked here for a few years and I know every corner of this plot. We have a small shed where we keep the tools. It’s not very big. We spend most of the day outside. My boots are always covered in stone dust. That’s just how it is. We don't do much advertising. People usually find Jaya Granites because they live nearby or someone told them where we are. Palavakkam is a nice place to work. It’s not as chaotic as the center of the city. We have a regular routine and we stick to it. The coffee machine in the corner is probably the most used thing in the office. We just take one day at a time here.
