Jay Marbles

We are right here on Poonamallee High Road in Koyambedu, just opposite the Hotel Shan Royal. It’s a loud place most of the time because of the traffic going into the city, but it works for us. Jay Marbles has been sitting on this lot for quite some time now. We usually spend our mornings checking on the new arrivals and making sure nothing got chipped during the ride over. The yard is filled with slabs of different colors and sizes. Some are a bit rough around the edges, but that is how natural stone comes to us. We don't have a big sales team or anything like that. Usually, it's just one of us sitting at the desk or walking around with a tape measure. People come in looking for something specific for their kitchen or floors, and we just show them what we have in stock at the moment. It gets pretty hot out there under the sun, so we try to do the heavy moving when it’s a bit cooler. Sometimes the delivery trucks get delayed because of the bypass traffic, which is a headache, but we manage. We aren’t trying to be the biggest place in Chennai, just a steady spot where you can get your stone and go. It’s a lot of manual labor, cleaning the dust off the surface so people can see the real veins in the marble, but we’re used to it. We just open up, do the work, and head home.
