Jai Masala

We have been here on Samayapurathamman Kovil Street for quite a while now. Most people around Choolaimedu know where we are, right near Periyar Pathai. It’s a busy little spot but we like it here. We mainly deal with all kinds of masalas. The shop isn't huge, but it gets the job done. We spend most of our mornings getting everything ready and sorted out. Sometimes the street gets really crowded with traffic, which makes it hard for deliveries, but we manage. My family started this because we liked the idea of having something local. It’s not fancy or anything. Just a regular place where you can find what you need for cooking. We try to keep things organized but sometimes when it's busy, things get a little cluttered behind the counter. That's just how it goes in a small business. People stop by on their way home from work. We know most of the faces that walk through the door. It’s nice to have that connection with the neighborhood. We don't have a big team, just a few of us working together every day. We handle the grinding and the packing ourselves right here. You can usually smell the spices before you even see the sign. It’s a lot of hard work, especially when the weather is hot, but we keep at it. We’re just here doing our thing and trying to make sure the pantry staples are available for everyone nearby. No big secrets, just us in Choolaimedu.
