International Montessori Teacher Training School

We are located at No 45 on Dr Radha Krishnan Salai in the Mylapore area. It is a pretty well-known street, so most people don't have much trouble finding the building. We spend our time showing people how to work with young children using the Montessori way. This involves a lot of sitting on the floor and working with different wooden blocks and beads. The building itself is an older one, but it stays fairly cool even during the summer months. We don't really use computers or fancy technology for the training because we think doing things by hand is more important for teachers. There is almost always someone in one of the back rooms practicing a lesson or organizing the materials. Our staff is just a small group of people who have been teaching this for a long time. It’s a quiet environment for the most part, except during the lunch breaks when the trainees are all talking at once. Mylapore is a nice place to be based, even though the traffic on the main road can be quite a headache in the evenings. We don't do much in terms of advertising or marketing. Most people hear about the school from other teachers or friends. We just provide a plain space and the right tools for people to learn how to be better educators. We keep a kettle in the corner for coffee and try to make the place feel okay. It’s pretty straightforward and we keep it that way for everyone.
