Inmaco Maritime Council

Inmaco Maritime Council is right in the middle of T. Nagar on Masilamani Street. If you’ve ever been to T. Nagar, you know how crowded it gets, but our street is a bit more relaxed. We are at number 10-A. The building is one of those older ones with thick walls that stay a bit cooler in the summer. We deal with maritime stuff, so there are maps and charts pinned to the walls. My desk is a mess of files and half-finished tea. We don't have a fancy reception area. If someone comes by, they usually just pull up a chair and start talking. It’s a very informal way of doing things, but it works for us. We’ve been in the shipping and maritime world for a long time. We know the rules and the people. We spend a lot of time on the phone or writing letters. The ceiling fan is always on high, but it doesn't do much against the Chennai humidity. We go out for lunch at one of the small places nearby. It’s a busy life but it’s what we know. We aren't looking to be the biggest council out there. We just want to keep things moving for the people who rely on us. It’s a small team, just a few of us working hard every day.
