Indian Tea Company

Indian Tea Company is based in Perambur, specifically on 1st Street in T V K Nagar. We’re at number 23, in a neighborhood that’s pretty residential but has a lot of small businesses tucked away in the lanes. Our space is modest. We don’t have a big storefront with neon lights or anything. It’s more of a place where we get the work done behind the scenes. We spend our time sourcing tea and making sure the packaging is handled right. There are three of us who handle everything from taking calls to loading the small van we use for deliveries. It can be a bit cramped when we have a lot of stock, but we’ve learned how to stack things to make space. The street outside is usually full of kids playing or neighbors chatting. We like being part of the local community here in Tiru Vi Ka Nagar. We don’t have a fancy website or a bunch of slogans. We just sell tea. We’ve had some ups and downs over the years, like any small business, but we’ve managed to stay afloat by being honest with people. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, so we just sit outside for a bit and wait for it to come back on. It’s a slow and steady kind of life. We focus on the basics and don’t try to be something we’re not. It's just a regular local business.
