Inca Stones

Down in Neelankarai, we have our setup at No 5/83 in Raja Nagar. We call the place Inca Stones. Being so close to the ocean means the air is always a bit damp and salty. It is a quiet area compared to the city center, which we actually prefer. The yard is where we spend almost all our time. We have various types of stone slabs arranged around the space. Some are quite large and take up a lot of room. We move them around with an old crane that we have had for a long time. It is a bit rusty and loud, but it still works fine for our needs. People from all over Raja Nagar and the surrounding areas come by to see what we have in stock. We do not have a big sales team or anything like that. It is just us showing the slabs to whoever walks in. We tell people about the different patterns and how the stone was originally cut. Some slabs have natural marks that some people do not like, but that is just how the earth made them. We do not try to polish over the truth or hide flaws. Most days are spent either unloading new arrivals from the trucks or loading up a customer's vehicle. It is heavy, physical work and by the time evening comes, we are usually pretty tired.
