Hyrax Agro Products is located in West Tambaram, which is part of the larger Chennai and Kancheepuram area. Our office is on the second floor of a building in Abirami Nagar, at New No 23. It is a bit different from being right on a farm, but we are close enough to the action to keep things moving. We handle the agro products after they come off the fields from the surrounding areas. It is a busy spot, and the traffic in Tambaram can be a real headache sometimes, but it is a good central location for what we do. We have got a small team, and we all wear many hats. One day I am checking inventory, and the next I am talking to transporters. It is not a polished corporate office with air conditioning in every room; it is just a working space where things get done. We deal with a lot of different producers from the districts. The air is always a bit dusty, and there is usually a stack of bags waiting to be moved somewhere. We are just trying to bridge the gap between the farms and the people who need the food. My nephew helps out with the computer stuff because I am not very good at it. We keep things simple and try to be honest in our dealings. It is a tough business with small margins, but we have been at it for a while.
