Hajee Ali Juice Shop

Hajee Ali Juice Shop is right at 86, Linghi Chetty Street. We are very close to the Hotel Orange Complex, so we get a lot of people who are visiting the area or staying at the hotel. Our work day starts very early with the arrival of fresh fruit from the market. We spend a lot of time sorting through the baskets to make sure everything is okay to use. The shop itself is quite small, so we have to be very organized with how we store the fruit and the ice. There is always a lot of water on the floor from washing the glasses and the machines. We use a lot of different blenders and they are almost never silent. It’s a very busy street and the noise from the traffic is constant. We don’t have any polished corporate mission or anything like that. We just make the juice and give it to the people who ask for it. Sometimes we run out of a certain fruit and we have to tell people to try something else. The counters are made of stainless steel and they are always covered in little splashes of juice. It’s a messy job but we enjoy being in such a lively part of the city. We’ve been on Linghi Chetty Street for a good while and we know the other shopkeepers well.
