Granito International

We’ve been at 66 Central Street for a while now. Kilpauk Garden is a busy spot, especially in the mornings when everyone is trying to get to work. Most days it's just us here at Granito International handling the paperwork and checking the slabs. It gets a bit dusty because of what we do, but that is just part of the job. You can find us right on the main stretch. Sometimes the parking is a nightmare. My desk is near the window so I see everything happening on the street. We usually start early, around nine, though some of us show up earlier to get a head start on the loading. The building isn't brand new, but it works for what we need. We handle a lot of stone and it’s heavy work. People stop by asking for directions sometimes. I like the neighborhood because there are good places to get tea nearby. It isn't a fancy setup. Just a bunch of desks and the samples spread out everywhere. We try to keep things organized but when a big shipment comes in, it gets chaotic for a few days. We’ve been through a lot of rainy seasons here and the roof held up mostly. We just keep our heads down and do the work. It is what it is. If you're looking for the place, look for the big gate on Central Street. We are usually there until six or so, sometimes later if the trucks are delayed.
