Granites India

You can find us at No. 8 near the Sri Vallabh Vinayaga Koil in Kil Naduvankarai. That’s where Granites India is located. Being so close to the temple means it’s always a lively spot with people moving about. We hear the morning prayers while we’re opening up the shutters every day. The shop is tucked away a bit, but once you find the temple, we’re right there. We deal with all sorts of granite pieces, mostly for kitchens and small flooring jobs. It’s a small operation. My brother handles the customers while I take care of the deliveries and the yard. We don't have a big corporate office; our workspace is just a corner with a couple of chairs and a lot of stone samples. Sometimes we get people who just want a small scrap for a repair, and we try to help them out if we have something lying around. The dust is a constant battle, no matter how much we clean. We’ve grown to like the neighborhood and the regular people who walk by every day. It’s not a glamorous job, moving heavy rocks all day, but it’s what our family knows. We don't use any fancy sales talk. We just show you the stone, tell you the price, and that’s about it. If you need something specific, we check the back pile. It’s just how we do things here.
