Granite & Marbles Co. is sitting right at No.106 on Nelson Manickam Road in the Aminjikarai area. If you’ve ever been on this road, you know how busy the traffic gets, especially during rush hour. Our shop is right in the thick of it. We don't have a massive amount of space, so we have to be very careful about how we stack our marble and granite. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze sometimes, but we make it work. We aren't the kind of place that has a receptionist or a coffee machine for guests. You just walk in and you’ll find one of us usually busy with a tape measure or a ledger. We get all sorts of people coming in, from architects to homeowners who are just looking for a small piece for a shelf. We treat everyone the same and just show them what we have on the floor. The stone business is tough and it can be quite messy with all the dust and the weight of the slabs. We don't try to make it look like something it isn't. It’s a basic shop run by people who have been doing this for years. We don't have any corporate goals or anything like that. We just want to sell the stone we have and get through the day without too much trouble.
