We are situated at No 1/52 B in Nerkundram, which is right next to the MGR Statue on P H Road in Koyambedu. If you know that statue, you know exactly where we are. It’s one of those landmarks that everyone uses for directions. Being in Koyambedu means we are right in the thick of the city’s movement. The noise from the traffic on P H Road is something we’ve just learned to ignore over the years. We sell marble, so our space is filled with big, heavy slabs that take a lot of effort to move. We spend a lot of time cleaning off the dust that settles on the stone from the road outside. It’s not a fancy business with a glass storefront. We are more of a traditional yard where you can see the material up close and touch the surfaces. Most days involve a lot of heavy lifting and checking through the inventory to see what we have left. We get all sorts of people stopping by, from homeowners to contractors who are working on big buildings nearby. We just tell them what we have and let them decide. There is no pressure or big sales pitches here. We are just local traders trying to run a decent business and get home to our families at the end of the day.
