Our business is situated at number 40 on Kappal Polu Street in Old Washermanpet. It is one of those old, crowded parts of Chennai where there is always something happening on every corner. We have a bit of a mixed focus here because we deal with both agro products and garments. It might seem like an odd combination to some, but it works for us and keeps the days interesting. Some days the warehouse area is full of sacks of agricultural goods, and other days it is stacked with bags of clothing. We have a small group of workers who handle the loading and unloading, and the street is so narrow that we have to be really careful when the trucks come in to deliver things. The building has been there for a long time and it has that old Chennai feel to it. We don't have fancy air conditioning in every room or modern office furniture, just the basics to get the job done. Our neighbors are mostly other small shops and families who have lived in Washermanpet for generations. It is a busy, loud, and dusty place, but we are used to it by now. We just focus on getting our orders out on time and making sure the business keeps running smoothly without any major issues. It’s a practical, everyday sort of operation and we don't try to make it seem like more than it is. We just keep our heads down.
