Genesha Farms

You can find us at 174 on MC Road, where we spend most of our time out in the fields. The road is usually busy with people driving past, but once you step onto the farm, it’s a different world. We have been working this patch of land for quite a while now. It’s mostly about the routine of planting, watering, and waiting for things to grow. We have a couple of old tractors that we have to keep fixing up because new ones are too expensive. Every day there is something different to do, whether it's checking the irrigation pipes or dealing with pests that want to eat our hard work. We sell our produce to the local markets and sometimes directly to people who stop their cars on the side of MC Road. It’s not a polished operation with fancy labels; it’s just fresh stuff straight from the soil. My clothes are rarely clean, and there is always grease under my fingernails from the equipment. We don't have a big office or anything, just a small shed where we keep the tools and seeds. It’s hard work that leaves you tired at the end of the day, but it’s what we know. We just take it one season at a time and try to keep the land healthy for whatever we plant next. The sun can be brutal, but the open space is worth it.
