Asiatic Engineering Co

Our shop is Asiatic Engineering Co. We are down on Sembudoss Street in Parrys. The address can be confusing because it’s New No 69 but Old No 33. We are at Shop No 10. Parrys is one of the oldest parts of the city, and you can feel it. The buildings are close together and the streets are always full of cycles and carts. We’ve been in this tiny shop for decades. There is a Post Box No 1768 on our letters. The space is narrow and deep. We have shelves that go back into the shadows. We deal with various engineering parts. Most of them are heavy and covered in a thin layer of protective oil. We have an old wooden counter where we talk to customers. It’s worn smooth from years of use. There isn't much space to move around if more than two people are inside. We don't have a computer on the desk, just a calculator and a notepad. The ceiling is high but the paint is peeling in the corners. We like the history of Sembudoss Street. You can hear the sounds of the harbor not too far away. We don't have a mission statement or anything like that. We just open the shutters every morning and see what the day brings. It’s a simple way of doing business in a very old neighborhood. We keep a heavy iron padlock on the front shutter to keep everything safe at night.
