Our building is at New No: 35 on M.S. Koil Street in Royapuram. It’s an old neighborhood and the street is always packed with people heading to the market or the temple. We have been working out of this spot for quite a while. Inside, it smells like paper and old machines. We don't have any of those fancy modern offices you see in the city. It’s a real workshop where things actually get made. The machines are heavy and they’ve been with us for years. We spend most of the day loading paper and checking the alignment on the runs. It’s a lot of standing around and watching the rollers spin. We don’t have a sales team that goes out to find work. Usually, people just drop by with a sample and ask if we can do something similar. We try to keep things moving, but sometimes the power goes out or a part breaks and we have to wait. We eat our lunch in the small back room together. It’s a loud place to work but we are used to it by now. The salt air from the ocean nearby can sometimes make the paper curl, so we have to be careful about where we stack things. We aren’t trying to be some massive corporation. We just want to get the jobs done and keep the shop running. M.S. Koil Street is noisy, but it feels like home to us after all these years.
