Colourwings

Our place is right at 125, Jani Jan Khan Road in Royapettah. If you have ever been down this way, you know how tight the street can get with all the bikes and people moving around. Colourwings has been sitting right here for quite a while now. It is not a very big place, just enough room for the shelves and a small desk where we handle the accounts. Every morning, we roll up the shutters around nine and start dusting off the cans. The smell of paint is pretty much always in the air, but we don't really notice it anymore. Most of our days are spent talking to painters or people who are just trying to fix up a room in their house. We don't have any big corporate goals or anything like that. We just focus on keeping the stock full so nobody leaves disappointed. The tea stall across the street usually brings us some chai around eleven, which is the highlight of the morning. Royapettah is a busy area, and there is always some noise coming from the street, but it feels like home to us. Sometimes the delivery trucks have a hard time finding a spot to park, which causes a bit of a headache. We just handle things as they come and try to keep the business going steady. My brother and I have been running this since our dad retired a few years back. It’s simple work, and we like it that way.
