Currimbhoys-Adyar

Our shop is at 47 Adyar Bridge Road, right in the Currimbhoys Building and just across from Malar Hospital. It’s a well-known spot in this part of town. People have been coming to us for years to find things for their homes. We have a lot of stuff packed into the shelves, and sometimes it feels a bit cramped, but that’s because we try to keep everything someone might need. It’s not a sterile, modern showroom. It feels more like a place that’s been lived in and used. We see a lot of families coming in, especially on weekends when the road is busy. The staff here mostly knows where everything is, even the small bits and pieces hidden in the back corners. We don't do much in the way of big sales pitches. If someone needs a plate or a jar, we show them where they are and let them decide. Being across from the hospital means there’s always people walking by. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years, but we’re still here in the same building. It’s a bit of a landmark for some. We try to keep the windows clean so people can see what’s new, but mostly it’s the same reliable things. It’s a simple shop and we like the regulars who stop by to chat. Sometimes the bell rings and we’re in the middle of sorting stock, but we always make time for whoever walks in. We have boxes of new deliveries arriving every Tuesday morning which keeps us on our toes.
