Dr Venkats Physiotherapy Clinic

Our clinic is over at 72 Valluvar Street in Jai Nagar. If you know the Arumbakkam area, you probably know the street. It’s a bit of a quiet spot compared to the main roads. Dr. Venkat spends most of the day helping people move their arms or legs after they get hurt. We have some mats on the floor and those big exercise balls rolling around. Sometimes it smells like muscle rub in here. It’s not a large place but we make it work. The front door has a bit of a squeak when you open it. We should probably oil that soon. Patients come in with all sorts of aches. Some have been coming for weeks to get their strength back. We have a few machines that beep and hum while people do their stretches. The curtains between the treatment areas are a light blue color. They’ve faded a bit from the sun coming through the windows. On rainy days the street gets a bit muddy so we ask people to wipe their feet well. We don't have a big fancy lobby. It’s just a counter and some seats. Usually, there is some old magazine on the table for people to flip through while they wait. We just focus on getting the exercises done. It’s a simple routine every day here in Jai Nagar. We are just glad to be part of the street.
