I’ve been working out of the Wall Paper World spot in Parrys for a while now under the name Designlab. It is a busy area, lots of people coming and going every day. Usually, I'm here at the desk trying to figure out how to make a space look right without spending too much. Parrys can be a bit noisy outside, but it’s where we do all our work. We mostly deal with wall designs and how things fit together in a room. It started out small and stayed that way, which is fine by me. People stop by when they’re looking for ideas or if they just want to see what’s new in the shop. I don’t really have a big team or anything, just a couple of us making sure things get done. Sometimes it gets messy with all the samples laying around, but that’s how it goes when you’re actually working on something. If you come by the address, you’ll see we are right there in the middle of it all. It’s a practical setup. We don’t do anything too fancy, just focus on the job at hand and try to make sure the measurements are right. Most of the time, I am looking through catalogs or talking to people about what they need for their homes. It’s honest work and it keeps me busy enough. The lighting in the shop could be better, but we manage just fine.
