We're set up in Shop No. T/C 81, right inside the Anna Fruit Market in Koyambedu. If you've ever been to the market, you know how loud and busy it gets early in the morning. That’s when our day usually starts. Being part of the Confederation of Farmer Producer means we’re right in the middle of all the action in Chennai. There’s always crates moving and people shouting prices. It’s a bit chaotic, but we’re used to it by now. Our space isn't huge, but it's enough for what we need to do. We talk to farmers and handlers all day long. We don't really have time for polished speeches or fancy brochures. Most of our writing is done on scraps of paper or in old ledgers. It’s a very hands-on kind of place. Some of us have been working in the Koyambedu market for decades. We know the rhythms of the place. We just try to help coordinate things so the produce gets to where it’s going. It’s a lot of physical work and talking to people face to face. We don't really do the internet thing much, we prefer just dealing with people directly. It’s just how we operate here in the market. It’s dusty, it’s noisy, and it’s a lot of work, but it’s what we do every single day. We are just a group of people working alongside the fruit stalls and the trucks.
