Coffee Tales is over on Diwan Bhasyam Street in West Saidapet. We are pretty close to the Royal Pet Shop, so you can usually hear the dogs barking while we are working. It’s a narrow street, 10/12 is the number, and it gets quite crowded in the evenings. We handle the coffee ourselves, from the beans to the final bag. It isn’t a massive place, just enough room for the essentials. We started this because we liked the idea of a local shop in the neighborhood. People stop by on their way to the market or after dropping their kids off. We don’t have a website or anything like that, we just talk to the people who walk in. The air inside always smells like roasted coffee, which we’ve stopped noticing but visitors always mention. Sometimes the grinders act up and we have to fix them on the spot. We aren't professional mechanics, but we've learned how to keep the gear running. It’s just us here, making sure the jars are full and the floor is swept. West Saidapet is a busy area, but our street has a bit of a local feel. We see the same faces every morning. We don't have a grand plan, we just want to keep the shop open and the coffee fresh for whoever needs it. It’s a simple life and we quite like the routine of it all. Nothing too fancy, just some people on Diwan Bhasyam Street making a living.
